The director also explained that once they put everything together, they worked to make it a homogenous experience and made changes to adapt the experience with modern sensibilities (talking about movement and aiming improvements, and other game mechanic improvements). This allowed them to be more exhaustive while creating each segment of the game and adding more detail that they could have done ever before. In said pages, Hirabayashi explained that the team was divided in three groups, with each building a different part of the game: the village, the castle, and the island.
A few month’s ago a theory that said the area had been removed (since it didn’t seem to appear in the collector’s edition physical map) gathered some strength, but the game’s director, Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, recently spoke about it in the latest issue of Edge magazine. The island in Resident Evil 4 is the final section of the game in which you fight against a zombified military wearing red berets and even gatling guns, and thankfully it will be in the remake. It was one of 5 changes that had kept fans on the fence about the remake.
